Millions of euros have been spent improving the Bansko skiing facilities, and the resort now boasts over 65 kilometres of ski runs and a ski lift network covering 26 kilometres. Snow cannons cover half of the slopes to keep the piste topped up.

The Bansko ski schools provide group and private lessons for all levels, whilst a ski kindergarten welcomes children from the age of 4.

The Bansko skiing season starts in mid December and lasts through until mid May when the town changes over to a summer resort offering walking, fishing, mountain biking and sightseeing.

In less than 20 minutes the fast Gondola lift transports you to the charlifts and pistes 12 kilometres up the mountains.

There are 14 pistes at the Bansko ski resort including one huge 16km run; plus cross country and off piste skiing. The ski runs are varied to suit all levels from beginner to expert; with several practise slopes containing a conveyer belt and button lift for the beginners. As well as two long black runs plus many red runs for the intermediate/advanced.

The freestyle lovers can enjoy the first of the Balkan fun parks. Every year jumps are professionally crafted for a range of abilities including other features such as rails, boxes and barrels.
